TV lamps are a particularly iconic type of vintage home decor. Manufactured primarily in the 1950s and early 60s these little lamps were designed to sit on top of the television and shine against the wall behind it to cast a soft glow to alleviate the eye strain of viewing in a darkened room. Highly decorative, TV lamps came in a variety of shapes and themes, but are most commonly glazed ceramic with some painted details. This particular lamp features an antelope kneeling in the tall grass. There is a planter depression directly behind the 'grass' design so that you can add your own savanna plants. The base is sealed so it can accommodate real plants without the moisture interfering with the function of the light. The light is finished in a high-gloss brown glaze with yellow undertones that accent the high relief. It takes a standard size E26 base light bulb.
