Antique prayer book in Hebrew ("Tephilath Israel" meaning "Prayer of Israel") published in Vienna in 1894 by Jos. Schlesinger. The book is made with a binding of celluloid over cloth, with bone and metal decorations and a copper clasp. Dimensions: 4" height x 3" width x 1" depth Austria, 1894 The book contains prayers for the whole year ("תפלות כל השנה"). The first page reads: תפלה ישראל כולל סדר קצת לימות החול וכל איש כקטן כגדול ימצא אותן בדרכן, והנה בעזר ה' נסדר Translation of Hebrew: Prayer of Israel Including A partial order for weekdays, and every person, small and large, will find them in their proper order, and behold, with God's help, it is arranged. Here are some additional translations from the image excerpts: "יְהִי יְיָ אֱלֹהֵינוּ עִמָּנוּ" translates to "May the Lord our God be with us". "שָׁלוֹם עֲלֵינוּ . וְעַל כָּל־יִשְׂרָאֵל" translates to "Peace upon us, and upon all Israel". "תפלת שחרית" translates to "Morning Prayer". The exterior is a shell of celluloid over cloth.
