This vibrant Mid-Century Modern barware set features a lively Atomic Calypso motif with hand-painted maracas and bongos, rendered in metallic gold, bold black, and hot pink, accented by playful wavy gold detailing. The dynamic design and saturated color palette are classic hallmarks of Gay Fad Studios’ most collectible work from the late 1940s to early 1950s. The set includes eight whiskey/rocks glasses and eight double shot glasses. The whiskey glasses measure 3 1/2 inches high with a 3 1/4 inch rim and are embossed with the Anchor Hocking mark used between 1938 and 1950. The double shot glasses measure 3 inches high with a 2 3/4 inch rim and are unmarked, consistent with Gay Fad production, as original paper labels were often lost over time. All glasses are in excellent vintage condition, with no chips or cracks. The paint remains vibrant and crisp, and the gilding is exceptionally well preserved for its age, showing no major scratches or fading—clear evidence that these pieces were carefully used and never subjected to a dishwasher. As with all vintage glassware, minor age-appropriate imperfections may be present upon very close inspection; photographs form an important part of the description. Founded in 1938 by Fran Taylor, Gay Fad Studios became one of the most influential decorative glass studios of the Mid-Century era. Working with manufacturers such as Anchor Hocking and Hazel-Atlas, the studio transformed undecorated glassware into boldly hand-painted designs that are now icons of American Mid-Century Modern style. This rare Atomic Calypso set is a standout addition to any MCM barware collection—perfect for display, entertaining, or elevating special occasions with authentic period charm. Dimensions: 2 3/4 High x 2 3/4 D United States, 1960
