Mid-century blonde maple vanity with matching stool designed by Russel Wright for Conant Ball part of the "American Modernist " Furniture line.
Often sold in Macy’s Department Store showrooms in New York in the 1940s. This early Modernist piece features two side cabinets and a central vanity drawer cabinet, all adorned with sculpted wooden pulls and crafted with dovetail joints and round edges. A celebrated designer, Russel Wright created artistically distinctive and commercially successful pieces from the late 1920s through the 1960s, helping to bring modern design into American homes.
This set also included a newly recovered bench, that can be stored directly underneath, with a fun tropical pattern with palms and Botanics. The vanity is in overall good vintage condition, showing some cracks and chips near the base along with other cosmetic imperfections consistent with age and use.
