In 1953, Lunt Eloquence was introduced as a silverware design. Eloquence has a highly detailed and ornate design with intricate patterns, including roses, scalloped handles, and other natural and freeform elements. Each piece of silverware showcases rich designs like carved patterns, decorative mini-cartouches with beading, and artistic leaves, bouquets, and flower motifs. This elaborate design is in stark contrast to the plain shaft with simple threading.
The Baroque influence is evident in the natural shapes of the serving implements' bowls. The Lunt family, who were silversmiths in Greenfield, Massachusetts, introduced this pattern in 1953. "Eloquence" pays tribute to the opulent and romantic ornamentation style of the Baroque period in Europe, which lasted from about 1600 to 1750.
