Original 1930 Hawaiian "Cascading" Hand-Painted Fine Porcelain Statue by Lei Gill. The vase features a beautifully detailed native Hawaiian girl resting flowers into a basket painted in beautiful warm tones. The sculpture brings to mind the nostalgic "Old Hawaii" feeling that permeated the art in Waikiki during that time. When Hollywood brought to the silver screen the South Pacific and From Here to Eternity....... an era of days gone by......... Lei Gill, the artist, is believed to have come to Hawaii in the 1930s, supposedly from the San Francisco area. A bit of a mystery, as the artist has never been clearly identified, but his or her distinctive style of airbrush is similar to the style being sold in Hawaii during the pre- and post-war era. Measurements: 10" Tall X 4" Wide X 3.5" Deep United States, 1930
