An elegant pair of polished brass and Bakelite Art Deco Modernist floral candle holders designed by the Chase Metalworks Co., of Waterbury, CT. The "Chase" mark is imprinted on the underside of the detachable candle sockets. The candle inserts are also detachable. It was during the Modernist-inspired fourth segment of the Chase product line in the 1930s that the company commissioned outside design talent and expended most of its manufacturing, marketing, and promotional efforts. Additionally, this segment arouses the zeal of serious Chase collectors where asking prices can range upwards of $1500 for a single rare and desirable piece.
