Designed by French sculptor Pierre Le Faguays in 1925, this Art Deco bronze statue features a young Grecian female archer named "Diana" gracefully pulling her bow. The statue highlights exquisite detailing on a naturalistic base. The sculpture is titled "Tireuse A L'arc," loosely translated to "The Archer's Bow" and signed by Le Faguays, with no foundry stamp.
Le Faguays's work is in museum collections, including the Musée d'Orsay, the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, and the Casa Lis, in Salamanca. This Statue was purchased from an estate sale by the owner of this galley in the 1970s.
