Original 1940s Streamline sterling silver tabletop butane lighter by Avedon. Avedon New York was a prestigious American luxury brand made in 1947, renowned for its high-quality sterling silver items like lighters and cigarette cases.
The company was celebrated for its exquisite craftsmanship and timeless, elegant designs. After Strikalite, Ltd. was forced to close, Harvey Avedon started a jewelry manufacturing business. He designed the Avedon Lighter in 1942 for his soon-to-be-wife Drusilla. Pocket and table versions of the Avedon Lighter were produced with sterling silver and 14k gold casings.
